Meet the Health and Healing Ministry Advisory Panel!

Meet the Health and Healing Ministry Advisory Panel!  On Sunday, November 17, during 9 a.m. worship a special blessing for the Health and Healing Ministry Advisory Panel will be offered.  A small group of First Lutheran members have eagerly volunteered to serve on the Health and Healing Ministry Advisory Panel-Pastor Debra Boynton, Brian Lund, Gloria Seidel, Pastor Kathy Ulrich, and Jane Voll.  The work of this panel has already begun.  Earlier this fall, they began to share their expertise, guidance and wisdom by starting to work with our Health and Healing Ministry staff members-Pastor Lowell Halvorson, our visitation pastor and Geri Long, RN, our parish nurse.  Their primary function is to be of support to Pastor Halvorson and Geri in their ministries by serving as their "sounding board" and a "bridge".  By serving as a "sounding board", new ideas for our Health and Healing Ministry will be presented and explored within the group.  While serving as a "bridge" between the Health and Healing Ministry staff members and the congregation, this panel will assist Pastor Halvorson and Geri in understanding how a program idea may translate to the congregation.

Additional functions include:

  • Being knowledgeable about the Health and Healing Ministry of First Lutheran Church so that they can encourage other members to make use of this congregational resource.
  • Recommending and assisting in developing health and healing programs and resources.
  • Ensuring the training and expressions of appreciation for the numerous volunteers involved in our Health and Healing Ministry.
  • Advise and guide Pastor Halvorson and Geri as they work collaboratively with Grace Lutheran Church to offer Health and Healing Ministry programs and services.

Many, many thanks to the members of this panel their eager willingness to serve and support the Health and Healing Ministry of First Lutheran Church!
