"Thank You" from Sherman School

Dear Members of First Lutheran Church:

On behalf of all of us at Sherman Elementary school, we would like to thank you for all of the assistance that you have given to our families this school year and especially during this upcoming Holiday Season.  We are now able to supply 102 families with food bags to go home on the weekend.  The children have been very appreciative!  It has also been a good experience for our 5th graders.  They deliver the food to the various classrooms throughout the building.  It gives them a great sense of accomplishment and encourages them to continue to help others.

We have also been able to supply all children who have had winter clothing needs with snow pants, coats, hats, mittens, and boots. This is an ongoing process all winter long.  Thank you to those of you who must have spent a long time making all of those hats and scarves.  Many children were also provided with shoes, and other clothing items.

There are many members of First Lutheran who have donated their time to work with children in the classrooms and assist in the library.  Day in and day out, we try to meet the needs of many different children who all need various levels of assistance.  We are so very thankful for the wonderful partnership that First Lutheran has offered to our families.

Thank you to the individual who dropped of the Halloween costumes for our students.  We had quite a few who were without costumes, and without your help, they would not have had anything to wear in the annual Sherman costume parade.  You made their day.

Blessings to all of you this holiday season, and thank you for the joy you have given our families,

Sherman Staff and Students
