Prayer Shawl Ministry Meetings Resume

Our first Prayer Shawl Ministry meeting of the Fall season will be the second Tuesday, September 8 at 6:30 p.m. in the Assembly at the Oxford site.  All are welcome to come and get started on a prayer shawl or bring your unfinished projects to work on.  We have patterns, yarn and needles to help you get started.  Need a knitting refresher course? We can help you!

First Lutheran has had a prayer shawl ministry for several years. The shawls are knitted or crocheted by many people, and then given to someone who needs the comfort of a shawl due to illness, grieving, or any other time of need. Anyone can take a shawl from the rack in Oxford Avenue's lounge to give to someone who needs one. We ask that a card be filled out, located on side container on rack, so we can track who is getting a shawl.

We need your help to make the shawls. Our meetings on each second Tuesday of the school year are fun times to get together to knit or crochet, exchange patterns and ideas.  Alternatively, some choose to make shawls at home.  We appreciate all who participate in this meaningful ministry.
